British singer Liam Payne, best known as a member of One Direction, has tragically passed away at the age of 31.

Payne was discovered lifeless at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after a fatal fall from the third floor, according to confirmed reports from ET.
Liam first stepped into the spotlight in 2008 with an audition for *The X Factor* in the UK. Though his initial attempt didn't lead to success, his return in 2010 changed everything, as he was placed in the globally famous boy band One Direction. After the band's hiatus, Payne ventured into his solo career in 2017, launching the hit single “Strip That Down,” which achieved platinum status in both the UK and the US. His debut solo album, *LP1,* followed in 2019.

He leaves behind his 7-year-old son, Bear, whom he shares with Cheryl Cole, along with his parents, Karen and Geoff, and two older sisters, Nicola and Ruth.
